Riding My Book Promotion Tour
Summer time is probably my favourite time of year, but the summer months often throw a wrench into my writing output. I promise I haven’t completely shirked my writing projects though! In fact, I have several on the go, including an historical fiction novel, a nonfiction book that will be a collaborative effort, plus work on editing a translation.
As to author events and book promotion so far in 2024, I think it has been going pretty well. And there is more to come!
The Book Promotion Tour
Why don’t we start with some follow up on how book promotion has gone to this point?
I have had several fantastic bookstores open their doors to me in 2024. I started the year with my book launch at the Bostwick Branch of the London Public Library. In February, there were book signings at Chapters South London, followed by one at Indigo North London a week later. In March, I visited Lake House Books. These were all solo book signings.
In April, I decided to change things up a bit. I reached out to fellow authors Marcia Allyn Luke and Daisy Mae Hamelinck and we decided to start a Twin Horseshoes Book Tour. Twin Horseshoes has published several books in its fledgling years, and we all represent the dream that Marcia had when she started the publishing agency. So at the beginning of May, we took over Chapters South London and greeted everyone who walked in the door with gusto. In June, we set up shop outdoors at Space to Grow and made connections aplenty.
While the tour slowed down in the summer months, we have been busy behind the scenes. Arranging a book tour takes time and energy, not to mention the challenge of coordinating schedules. There have been emails, phone calls, and zoom calls, plus I visited Daisy in August to go over things in person.
Don’t worry. It is all building to a return to the tour this fall.

Check out my events page for upcoming details! While Marcia’s schedule hasn’t managed to gel with ours, Daisy and I have several events books already. Look for us in London on September 19 and 28 at Chapters South London. I will be solo at Indigo North London on September 14. And we are in talks with other locations too!
